The profession of a designer-stylist: Kyrylo Kharitontsev on For HR channel.
A new video about the profession of a designer-stylist has been released on the For HR channel. The guest of the project is the popular designer, stylist, image consultant, and blogger Kyrylo Kharitontsev. They discussed the intricacies of the profession, career paths, earnings, and the fashion industry as a whole.
“A designer-stylist is a profession about craftsmanship, about knowledge of certain techniques, skills, and abilities. If you want to be a professional, you need to have a certain understanding of garment construction. You don’t necessarily have to know how to do it yourself, but you should definitely have knowledge and a general idea of garment construction. A designer-stylist should also be able to sketch because it helps you save money and avoid mistakes,” – says Kyrylo Kharitontsev, a designer-stylist.
Interestingly, Kyrylo’s first attempts at design happened when he was only 6 years old. He used to playfully cut out shapes in his grandmother’s clothes, which earned him a scolding. His first serious sewing project appeared when he was 15 years old.
Kyrylo collaborates extensively with Ukrainian showbiz stars but advises newcomers to focus on specific goals and directions and not try to do everything at once.
“From my own experience, I’ve come to realize that it’s important not to take on everything and instead preserve your psychological comfort by not getting overwhelmed with too many tasks. Focus on areas where you feel you can be valuable. My goal is to be proud of all my work, to confidently share it on Instagram or TikTok. I always give my maximum effort and fully commit to each project,” – says Kyrylo.
