The most interesting experts’ ideas of the Business coffee event
At the time of the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, there were approximately half a million veterans in Ukraine. According to estimates from the Ministry of Veterans, after the completion of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the number of veterans could increase to about 4 million individuals. However, as of today, no one can precisely say how many of them will need rehabilitation and assistance.
Smart Solutions and Fillin organized a business coffee session for CEOs, HR professionals, and those interested in the topic of Ukrainian veterans’ adaptation in the business environment after returning from the frontlines. The event successfully brought together key players in the Ukrainian business market, including companies such as DTEK Energo, UkrEnergo, Ukrzaliznytsia, SoftServe, Salateira, Lifecell, Intellias, Bayer, First Private Brewery, Mondelez, and others.
The speakers at the event shared practical case studies that are already being implemented in their own companies. In particular, speaker Natalya Teryakhina discussed the adaptation program for veterans from the company “Kernel.” Currently, about 12,000 employees work in their business. The adaptation program is already operational and has successful results. Olga Bezpal’ko, the director of the Department of Social Policy at “Ukrzaliznytsia,” also delivered a speech, noting: “The majority of Ukrainian companies still do not understand the potential challenges associated with the increasing number of veterans in the labor market. This truly requires serious analysis and understanding of labor market trends right now. Such events are important in terms of identifying the problems that companies will face. It will allow planning for the future and taking proactive actions in favor of veterans,” – shared Olga.
Additionally, Natalya Prostun, an experienced psychologist, shared her perspective on how to communicate with veterans. Overall, they received positive feedback and a large number of questions from the audience.
