Profession “TV presenter.” How to pass the casting on TV? Tips from Slava Solomka
We are all accustomed to the idea that TV presenters are people with impeccable appearance, “steel” nerves, and clear diction. However, behind this beautiful image, most often, there are years of extensive training and complex work of an experienced team of professionals.
The For HR channel conducted an exclusive interview with the well-known Ukrainian TV presenter and actor, Vyacheslav Solomka. They talked about his career, the first auditions, and the challenging casting process with Masha Yefrosinina.
“I went there with such a clear mindset that I am going to get a job. When I arrived, I introduced myself, and they said they would call me. However, it didn’t stop me. I said that I have to work here, I have to be your presenter, I will energize you and the viewers. Then I was invited to the second casting, and they selected me for the ‘Pіdyom’ – program,” Slava recalls.
According to Solomka, being a television presenter is an emotionally draining and energy-intensive profession. Every professional presenter has a significant mission, whether it’s to uplift people’s spirits, report on the world’s major events, or serve as an exemplar of intellectuality. Slava also mentioned how he experienced depression and unemployment after a full-scale invasion.
“I almost hanged myself because of it. I had clinical depression, and sports saved me, which I started doing. That’s why I advise everyone never to lose hope and find something that will help you recover and fill yourself up,” – Solomka shares.
