Internal Communications in Times of War

Internal communications are a crucial element of effective interaction between employees and ensure timely information exchange within any company. Their transparency and quality determine the level of employee engagement, the ability to adapt to changes, provide support, and motivate the team, especially in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Should all businesses engage in internal communications, what is their future in wartime Ukraine, and which tools are most effective for motivating employees? These topics were discussed on the For HR channel with Kateryna Glukhova, Employer Brand, Internal Communications & Employee Experience Team Lead at Fozzy Group.

Employee motivation is about making people feel their importance to the company, ensuring their voices are heard, and allowing them to influence what happens in the company. At Fozzy Group, we have long implemented the ‘Evolution’ program, which allows employees to form teams and drive improvements within the company. When people see the results of their influence, it is the best motivation for them,”-  shares our guest.

In the episode, Kateryna detailed the components of internal communications at Fozzy Group, how the company measures the effectiveness of internal communications, and how they address related challenges and obstacles.

In our company, we acknowledge mistakes, and the key is how an employee analyzes their mistake and creates a new algorithm to reduce such situations. It is important to debrief after each event or communication, assess what happened, what could have been done differently, and revisit these conclusions when necessary. This helps prevent similar situations in the future,” – explains Kateryna Glukhova.
